Position Summary:
Atlantic Fenestration Systems is seeking a dynamic, results-driven General Manager to lead all aspects of our commercial door, storefront, curtain wall, and architectural aluminum fabrication business. 
 
The General Manager is responsible for the overall success of the operation, including production, estimating support, purchasing, scheduling, inventory management, customer satisfaction, employee development, financial performance, and strategic growth. 
 
This individual will build systems, develop people, improve processes, and foster a culture of accountability while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and profitably. 
 
The ideal candidate combines strong manufacturing leadership with commercial construction experience and possesses the ability to think strategically while remaining actively engaged in day-to-day operations. 

Primary Responsibilities 
Operational Leadership :
  • Lead the daily opera:tions of Atlantic Fenestration Systems. 
  • Oversee production, fabrication, purchasing, scheduling, shipping, and warehouse operations. 
  • Ensure projects are fabricated accurately and delivered on schedule. 
  • Monitor shop capacity and labor utilization. 
  • Develop production schedules that maximize efficiency. 
  • Coordinate priorities between Sales, Estimating, Purchasing, Production, and Installation. 
  • Remove operational bottlenecks before they impact customers. 
  • Ensure company resources are utilized efficiently. 

Financial Management 
  • Assume full P&L responsibility for the manufacturing operation. 
  • Develop and monitor departmental budgets. 
  • Analyze production costs and identify opportunities for improvement. 
  • Monitor labor productivity and manufacturing efficiency. 
  • Improve gross profit through operational excellence.
  • Review purchasing practices and vendor relationships. 
  • Monitor inventory levels and material usage. 
  • Participate in strategic planning and annual budgeting. 
Leadership & Team Development:
  • Recruit, hire, mentor, and develop employees. 
  • Build a culture centered on accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and respect. 
  • Conduct employee performance reviews. 
  • Establish measurable performance goals. 
  • Coach supervisors and department leaders. 
  • Promote employee engagement and retention. 
  • Foster collaboration between office and shop personnel. 
Manufacturing Excellence:
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives. 
  • Improve workflow throughout the facility. 
  • Standardize processes. 
  • Eliminate waste and inefficiencies. 
  • Develop KPIs for every department. 
  • Improve throughput while maintaining quality. 
  • Increase manufacturing capacity without sacrificing craftsmanship. 
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives. 
Customer Experience:
  • Ensure exceptional customer service. 
  • Build strong relationships with contractors, suppliers, and vendors. 
  • Resolve customer concerns professionally. 
  • Participate in major customer meetings. 
  • Ensure commitments are met. 
  • Protect the company's reputation through responsive communication and reliable execution. 
Quality Control:
  • Maintain the highest quality standards. 
  • Ensure fabricated products meet specifications. 
  • Reduce manufacturing defects. 
  • Improve quality control procedures. 
  • Investigate recurring production issues. 
  • Develop preventative solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards. 
Safety 
  • Promote a culture where safety is everyone's responsibility. 
  • Ensure OSHA compliance. 
  • Conduct regular safety meetings. 
  • Investigate incidents. 
  • Implement corrective actions. 
  • Maintain a clean and organized manufacturing facility. 
Technology & Innovation 
  • Champion the implementation of new technologies. 
  • Support automation initiatives. 
  • Lead implementation of ERP and manufacturing software. 
  • Utilize data to drive operational decisions. 
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive processes. 
  • Promote digital documentation and reporting. 
  • Ensure accurate production and operational data. 

Qualifications 
Required 
  • 10+ years of manufacturing or construction operations leadership experience. 
  • 5+ years leading teams. 
  • Strong financial acumen. 
  • Experience managing budgets and departmental performance. 
  • Proven experience improving operational efficiency. 
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills. 
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. 
Preferred 
  • Commercial glazing experience. 
  • Architectural aluminum fabrication experience. 
  • Curtain wall, storefront, and entrance systems knowledge. 
  • CNC manufacturing experience. 
  • Experience with ERP software. 
  • Lean Manufacturing certification or experience. 
  • Experience implementing operational technology. 
  • Knowledge of estimating and project management processes.
